Full portfolio
Web · Admissions
An online application system for Form One and Form Five intake, built to hold up under enrollment-week traffic.
Web · Admissions
Problem: Paper-based applications meant lost documents, no visibility into status, and a manual, error-prone check against payment records during the busiest week of the year.
Approach: Built a PHP application handling document upload with MIME validation and size limits, a status dashboard per applicant, and a payment verification layer tied into the school's existing records.
Result: Paper forms retired. Staff work from one dashboard instead of a stack of folders, and applicants can check their own status without calling the office.
Web · Scheduling
A timetable generator spanning multiple schools on one platform, with live conflict detection.
Web · Scheduling
Problem: A single admin panel needed to serve several schools at once, without one school ever seeing or overwriting another's timetable and without double-booking a teacher across two classes.
Approach: Rebuilt the scoping logic so every query is filtered per school, added a click-to-edit interface with AJAX save, and a live conflict-check endpoint that warns before a clash is saved.
Result: No more double-booked teachers, and changes made by one school's staff stay contained to that school's data.
Web · Redesign
A full front-end rebuild replacing a decade-old template with a modern, mobile-first layout.
Web · Redesign
Problem: The existing site was unreadable on mobile, used outdated navigation patterns, and didn't reflect the institution's actual brand colors or identity.
Approach: Rebuilt the header, navigation, and hero sections with a defined color and type system, sticky navigation with dropdowns, and a mobile drawer menu.
Result: A site that reads as current on any device, with a consistent visual identity across every page.
Hosting · Migration
Moved a school's domain, DNS, and email to new hosting without any service interruption.
Hosting · Migration
Problem: A school needed to move to new hosting without losing incoming email or breaking the live site during the switch.
Approach: Staged DNS changes (A, MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC) ahead of the cutover, verified propagation globally before pointing the domain live, and confirmed mail flow before decommissioning the old host.
Result: Zero downtime, zero lost email, and a clean handover confirmed record by record.
Hosting · Infrastructure
Scaled a single school's shared hosting into VPS infrastructure supporting several linked sites.
Hosting · Infrastructure
Problem: Shared hosting couldn't keep up once a public site, an admissions system, and an admin panel all needed to run reliably at once.
Approach: Provisioned and configured a VPS, separated services so one component's load couldn't take down another, and set up monitoring for uptime and resource use.
Result: Room to add new systems without re-negotiating hosting every time, and clear visibility when something needs attention.
IT Support · Recovery
Diagnosed and fixed a failing payment-status system inherited from a previous build.
IT Support · Recovery
Problem: An existing payment-status page was throwing fatal errors for a subset of students, silently failing instead of showing what went wrong.
Approach: Traced the fault to a missing database column, a mismatched error-handling type, and a missing profile row for one student category fixed each in turn and added handling so future gaps fail loud, not silent.
Result: The page works for every student category, and failures now surface immediately instead of going unnoticed.
How a project runs
We learn what the system needs to do, and who it needs to do it for.
Structure and interface decisions made before a line of code is written.
Development against real data and real use cases, not placeholder content.
Domain, hosting, and DNS configured and verified live, not just finished.
Monitoring and changes after launch, on a schedule that fits how you operate.
Under the hood
About
System Development works with schools, colleges, and businesses across Tanzania on the parts of their operation that can't quietly fail an admissions system during enrollment week, a timetable on the first day of term, a domain that needs to resolve correctly before a fee can be paid.
What clients say
"The admissions system held up during the busiest week of the year, and we finally have one place to check application status."
Client Manager- Beroya Mission Secondary School
"They fixed problems in our old timetable software that we'd been living with for two years, in a fraction of that time."

Questions
Both. We register and manage .co.tz/.tz domains, set up hosting and email, and build the system that runs on top of it one point of contact for all three.
Yes. Most of our recent work has involved debugging and extending existing PHP and Laravel systems scoping bugs, broken uploads, payment status errors not just building from scratch.
A single-institution website is usually days to a few weeks. Multi-school platforms with admissions or scheduling logic run longer, scoped after the discovery stage.
Yes monitoring, security patching, and change requests are available on a schedule that matches your term calendar or business cycle.
